Microsoft Supply Chain Operations Manager- Reuse Program

Are you interested in overseeing the execution of a key sustainability initiative for the Cloud Supply Chain? If so, the Network Supply Chain Operations (SCOM) team is looking for a, where you will manage execution and oversight of the re-use program, whereby de-commissioned hardware is re-inspected and validated for use for re-deployment in the Microsoft datacenter network. In this role, you will own metrics related to execution of the re-use program, oversee budget responsibility for services and components, and act as the single point of contact in Cloud Supply Chain to ensure a successful, timely execution of this critical program.


Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee global re-use execution across 3 fulfillments locations in the US, Europe and Asia (with the potential expand geographically), acting as the single point of contact in Supply Chain Operations for multiple internal and external stakeholders. As a part of this responsibility, you will monitor execution performance vs. agreed upon SLA’s, understand root cause for delays, drive insights and actions to remove blockers to execution, and ensure our global fulfillment partner is compliantly executing to strict guard-rails as mandated by Microsoft.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a timely receipt of inventory shipping back from datacenters into our global fulfillment partner, trouble-shooting issues and driving process, training and system improvements where needed.
  • Drive budget responsibility for re-use services and component supply to complete re-use activities. Among other responsibilities in this area, you will partner with multiple stakeholders to understand the de-com forecast, translate the decom forecast into supply requirements, drive the approvals and processes to compliantly pre-position components, monitor spend vs. budget, and proactively ensure budget extensions where needed.
  • In supply constrained scenarios, drive execution priorities for the global fulfillment partner encompassing both the re-use program and other non-inspected inventory. To successfully drive priorities, you will partner with our fulfilment partner and Component Planning and Fulfillment stakeholders to ensure priorities are understood, vetted, and translated into clear instructions for execution.
  • Drive optimization in the E2E (end to end) re-use program to include timely reviews of re-use throughput and capacity vs. the roadmap forecast. You will drive reviews of demand vs. supply / capacity at the regional level of grain and drive improvement and readiness actions needed to scale the re-use program.
  • Ensure healthy levels of re-use inventory on-hand to include inventory aging and actions needed to disposition slow moving inventory. As a complement to this, you will own metrics related to inventory productivity in addition to re-use throughput vs. SLA (service level agreement) by region.
