Responsibilities:

Main responsibility for this position is to design & develop embedded firmware for fire detection systems comprised of control panels, network card and field devices (transponder, smoke detectors) requiring expertise in various technologies like Embedded C, C++ programming, RTOS and Linux system programming.

Specific Tasks Include:

Design & develop embedded firmware for control panels, network cards, etc with adherence to cybersecurity.

Embedded firmware development using C, C++ and provide technical leadership to the team.

Software Design, memory profiling, application and communication protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, TPP, MQTT, etc..

Understanding the hardware schematics and implement/port low level drivers.

Experience/Understanding of Linux kernel, Linux internals, Virtual memory.

Knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, QNX etc), Microcontrollers, Memory Handling, RTC, Watch Dog, IO, ADC, Power Management and Communications Protocols such as Ethernet, Arcnet etc.

Effort estimation and planning, technically manage external consultants and suppliers for software deliverables.

Maintain know how on applicable FIRE standards such as UL, EN54 etc.

Interact with marketing to define and clarify System requirements.

Investigate complex customer issues as required.

MUST HAVE:

Bachelor or Master degree in engineering with specialization in electronics or computer science.

Proven work experience in high speed network design and architecture

Extensive experience in embedded software design & development.

Understanding of open source components, encryption, DevOps

Unit testing experience and understanding of test automation

Understanding of dev tool chains like Jira, BitBucket, Build servers, SonarQube, etc..

Good communication, problem solving & presentation skills.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

WE VALUE:

Exposure to software product development life cycle and Agile methodologies would be preferred.

Understanding of cloud technologies and IoT

Working experience in product portfolio related Fire, security, Automation.

Scaled Agile SAFE Certification.

Experience on requirement-management, Experience on cross site development.
