Responsibilities include developing, modifying and executing software test plans; analyzing and writing test standards and procedures; maintaining documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modifying software; and analyzing test results to ensure functionality and recommending corrective action.As part of the team, you will:

  • Develop automated test cases to validate new h/w and s/w features in a Linux-based regression environment
  • Test enhancements to functional areas such as router fabric performance, datapath verification/characterization, ethernet and optical conformance , etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work closely with the functional area testers and developers to investigate and resolve bugs.
  • Learn the industry's best practices in software development, configuration management and quality assurance design and automation.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems, Software, Electrical or Communications or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of programming languages (preferably scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, shell)
  • A drive towards best practices and the best quality possible
  • Strong attention to detail


Preferred:

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience using source control software (e.g. GIT)
  • Familiarity with networking test tools (IXIA, Spirent, IPerf, Wireshark, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IP/TCP, routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP) and/or signaling protocols (RSVP, LDP)
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and optics transceivers
  • Previous Nokia internship or co-op experience
