In this role you will create and use impactful metrics, reporting, and data visualizations to drive consistent and defendable messaging to effectively communicate the cybersecurity landscape and risk posture with various stakeholders.
This highly collaborative role requires a blend of cybersecurity expertise and analytical skills to drive data driven decision making and awareness of the maturity of our capabilities and the treatment of risk through a foundation of data storytelling and visualization while developing close working partnerships with engineering, architecture, risk management, compliance, legal, communications, government relations, and oversight teams.
Your day to day
Lead independent and cross-functional projects to develop and implement effective cybersecurity metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs), through a centralized reporting capability in relation to PayPals products, people, processes, and technology.
Collaborate across teams to identify and prioritize key cybersecurity metrics through an established reporting framework.
Establish trusted working relationships with key partners across engineering, architecture, risk management, compliance, legal, communications, government relations, and oversight teams and act as the liaison capturing timely reporting needs.
Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in cybersecurity metrics.
Design and build complex technical metrics into easily understandable dashboards, visualizations, infographics, and other reporting formats.
Provide executive-level reporting and insights on the effectiveness of cybersecurity programs, controls, and risk management efforts.
Stay updated on emerging trends & best practices in cybersecurity metrics & reporting. Ensure cybersecurity metrics align with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Coach and mentor team of metrics and reporting professionals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What you need to bring
Knowledge of current and emerging information technologies (e.g., AI / ML); cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities; risk management processes and practices; industry standard control frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO); and prominent cybersecurity and privacy regulations globally.
Strong work ethic with proven ability to learn quickly, prioritize work, and manage complex deliverables to completion under established deadlines.
Superb consultative, adjudicative, investigative, and influencing skills, including business acumen, stakeholder empathy, and conflict resolution, as well as general comfort working in a dynamic, global, fluid, and matrixed working environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and analysis skills, including experience developing high-quality written analysis, strategy, or policy documents
Prior involvement in analysis, interpretation, and communication of legal or regulatory technology policy requirements.
Experience crafting and/or presenting metrics and reports providing verbal presentations to varied audiences (e.g., executives, engineers, customers, regulators, etc.)
Unquestionable professional and ethical integrity, ideally demonstrated through experience with projects of a sensitive, privileged, or confidential nature.
Ability to approach and understand problems from a statistical or quantitative perspective and draw meaningful, accurate conclusions, as well as scrutinize models and inferences for misleading or overlooked considerations.
Demonstrable experience in designing and developing dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
Candidates will be expected to provide metric and dashboard samples on relevant topics.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850
