THE ROLE
➡️ You will be responsible for ensuring the project is designed and constructed so that the H&S risk to all persons involved are eliminated or reduced as much as possible, taking into account the live urban environment.
➡️ The Health and Safety Manager will support the Design and Technical Services Lead in leading the Health and Safety sub-functional area, assuming responsibility for the performance management of personnel and leading the continuous drive towards a high-performance culture.
➡️ You will develop and maintain a detailed resourcing plan and will oversee the day-to-day activities of the CP personnel deployed, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
➡️ Working closely with the National Transport Authority, you will assist them to comply with their duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
☑️ The successful Health and Safety Manager should possess significant experience of carrying out health and safety activities across the project lifecycle through to completion on high value road and / or infrastructure projects in a live urban environment or projects of a similar scale and complexity.
☑️ You will ensure that all works will be carried out in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005; Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to 2020, and all other current applicable Regulations, Codes of Practice and Guidance.
☑️ Bachelor or Masters Degree in a construction-related subject (or equivalent).
DESIRABLE SKILLS
☑️ Experience of working with Irish Government Regulation governing construction health and safety
☑️ Driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards
☑️ The design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural, engineering or construction sectors
☑️ Developing and maintaining health and safety management Systems, Safe T Cert, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001;
☑️ NEBOSH, Safepass and Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent are all desirable
