You will be part of an Agile team dedicated to productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. You’ll focus on the machine learning architectural design, develop and review model and application code, and ensure high availability and performance of our machine learning applications using existing and emerging cloud technologies. We are looking for someone who is eager to lead the development of large machine learning systems alongside talented modelers and engineers, as well as a strong architect with a track record for designing APIs used in large-scale production environments who can create simple, reusable abstractions for performing complex machine learning tasks.

What you'll do:

  • Partner and collaborate closely with People.AI product and business leaders.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, data science, app development, and data engineering teams to prioritize efforts that will bring your team’s work to life. Identify new opportunities, develop prototypes, achieve buy-in from partners, and communicate staffing needs.
  • Effectively communicate your team’s work to other senior leaders and the executive team on a regular basis.
  • Leverage or build cloud-based architectures, technologies, and/or platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
  • Model the MLOps ways-of-working by leveraging CI/CD best practices, including test automation, automated deployments, model retraining, and monitoring to ensure successful deployment and continuous operation of ML systems and pipelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest state-of-the-art techniques in use and deployment of machine learning applications/models and foster a culture of learning within the organization.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience leading teams both technically and in a formal management capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and synthesize requirements across multiple domains.
  • Deep knowledge of and experience in building scalable distributed end-to-end machine learning pipelines and or services.
  • Highly skilled in the technologies we use and learn daily: API Design, scaling applications, distributed systems, Python(ML, APIs, workflows), Cloud Platform (Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, Airflow, SQL.
  • Well-developed software engineering/API design fundamentals and the ability to write production code when needed.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for MLOps and cloud technologies.
