U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Principal Software Engineer - Microservices (multiple positions) in Horsham, PA.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Principal Software Engineer – Microservices will provide leadership and guidance in software engineering design and development of microservices using Java, Servlets, Spring, and Spring Boot frameworks, Spring Security, incorporating Oracle, Kafka, and Cassandra for efficient data processing and utilizing frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JS, and Redux to create user-friendly interfaces for banking applications.
Utilize DevOps principles in an Agile Environment and experience with CI/CD pipelines,utilizingtools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
Configure version control tools, such as Bitbucket, to align with project requirements and enhance collaboration among development teams.
Design and develop applications on AWS or Azure.
Manage Kubernetes clusters and resources both on-premises and in Azure cloud, ensuring efficient orchestration and scalability.
Implement containerization strategies to enhance application deployment and resourceutilization.
Implement security measures in microservices and cloud environments to safeguard sensitive financial data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and end-users, to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Conduct regular code reviews, providing constructive feedback tomaintaincode quality and adherence to best practices.
Resolve complex technical issues,identifyperformance bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for enhanced system efficiency.
Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases including Oracle and Cassandra and develop applications for data streaming platforms, with a focus on Kafka.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and assessments.
Apply in-depth understanding and capability to design and develop applications using Kubernetes and write Kubernetes manifest files and deploy applications to on-premises or Azure Cloud Kubernetes clusters.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires adegree or equivalent in Computer Science/ Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering and 5 years of (progressive, post-baccalaureate) software development experience in the banking/finance industry.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 5 years (60 months) of experience with each of the following: 1) Designing and developing microservices using Java, Servlets, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security and other spring related frameworks; developing Web applications utilizing frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JS, and Redux to create user-friendly interfaces for banking / financial industry applications. 2) Designing and developing applications on at least one major public cloud platform such as AWS or Azure. 3) Applying in-depth understanding and capability to design and develop applications using Kubernetes and writing Kubernetes manifest files and deploying applications to on-premises or Azure Cloud Kubernetes clusters. 4) Utilizing DevOps principles in an Agile Environment and experience with CI/CD pipelines,tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm. 5) Working with both SQL and NoSQL databases including Oracle and Cassandra and developing applications for data streaming platforms, with a focus on Kafka.will accept experience gained concurrently.
