U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer in Horsham, Pennsylvania.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer will attend business requirements meetings to review existing system functions, operating methods and business needs. Essential responsibilities include: go through functional specifications and requirements (scope) documents; develop detailed technical design documents, including pseudo code and flow diagrams for components; work on HOGAN/Non-Hogan components; prioritize work items based on the impact and dependencies; perform development and customization software using COBOL, JCL, HOGAN Maps, VSAM, Easytrieve, File Manager, etc.; maintain change version through Endeavor; schedule new jobs in CA-7; create business reports in System ware; create new files for interfacing systems per business needs; coordinate across teams to integrate the interfacing application for cross-team implementation; utilize debugging tools like Expeditor to perform debugging for component functionalities; prepare and execute unit test scripts and cases to make sure the functionalities are working per the requirements; monitor the non-production environments; migrate developed components to higher environments like IT and QA and monitor defects raised during testing phases; log incidents in ServiceNow and fix issues based on SLA timing; verify test scripts from testing team & demo development work with the team; create change requests using ServiceNow to implement changes in production; prepare detailed implementation plans and get proper approval from project governance team; attend check point meetings and status calls to provide updates on the progress of implementation into production and provide post-deployment support; and use shared folders and SharePoint to store all documents created, including technical specifications details for future reference. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple positions.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Information Technology plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Consultant, or related.
Must possess 5 years of experience with: designing, developing, testing and implementing software and business applications; analyzing software requirements; software system testing, programming and documentation; optimizing code and solving programming tasks; installation of software systems and estimation methodologies; Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, HOGAN, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and VSAM; TestLinks; and Quality Center.
