The Strategic Supplier Relationship Leadmonitors the performance and develops relationships with all HRSS Human Resources Shared Services Suppliers. This position manages the BAO (Business Activity Owner) requirements for multiple suppliers and will lead the consistent evaluation of all HRSS suppliers (with a current focus on Payroll Suppliers) ensuring both the performance of the current suppliers as well as monitoring the portfolio of suppliers to ensure our supplier base meets the company’s needs today and in the future. This position will lead a team that is responsible for all BAO responsibilities including Supplier Monitoring. Supplier monitoring is focused on providing up-to-date and relevant information about the relationship with each supplier and how it has delivered results. Monitoring is focused on the quality of products and services delivered, deadlines, costs, and KPI/SLA requirements. This position will also be responsible for supporting the supplier consolidation strategy as well as delivering on supplier growth targets. This role will help track standard metrics as well as establish metrics which are more subjective such as commitment, ease of communication, degree of innovation, etc.

Key focus areas are:

  • Delivering a “Supplier Performance Benchmarking Report” including quality, on-time delivery, service, contract compliance, responsiveness, accuracy on promises, technical support, innovation, footprint, etc.
  • Supplier communication – openly communicate with our supplies about Citi’s perspective of their quality and delivery performance. Develop a plan if there are issues/concerns. Also understand how our suppliers view Citi as a client and work with the supplier to ensure Citi is in good standing with the supplier.

In addition, this position will be responsible for streamlining, automating, and improving overall efficiency. This will require the team to solution global challenges, provide project plans, create baseline and final metrics for all initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with new and current suppliers
  • Act as responsible stewards of capital through a relentless focus on expense optimization, and fraud prevention
  • Assist in all audits related to supplier management
  • Serve as the escalation point for in country user base & is the primary liaison between Citi and the supplier partners
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators to drive performance
  • Support all BAO activities Globally for multiple suppliers
  • Strengthen our supplier engagement program
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to all Citi standards and meets KPI’s.
  • Undertake the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of to meet strategic goals
  • Can independently identify up-stream and down-stream operational problems and escalate them to the appropriate resource before they become problematic
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks/obstacles with minimal direction from leadership to determine appropriate corrective action
  • Ensure capability, process, and technical integration consistency (where possible) between multiple suppliers
  • Develop & lead Monthly cadence meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews and Annual Top to Top meetings

Ideal background:

  • +5 years of in vendor management experience
  • Third Party Management experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s/University degree
  • Proven execution skills and ability to drive results in a Business/Operational organization
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills; able to facilitate a diverse set of senior executives to drive convergence to a common set of priorities and standards across Businesses
  • Ability to navigate through the global framework, handle conflicting priorities and goals
