Job Description

Responsibilities for this position include the notification, statusing, filing of claims, adversary actions, as well as, any additional activities that occur throughout the life of a bankruptcy. This position may also manage additional specialty functions within RPS including handling incoming and outgoing phone calls. Reviews balance at time of filing and prepares proof of claim for filing with the courts. May perform legal and regulatory research and analysis for attorneys. In addition, may prepare subpoenas, depositions, and records. May prepare disposition, trial, and hearing instruments. Reviews Federal, State, and Local rules concerning procedure. Documents regulatory and compliance issues and files related to regulatory reports. Collect data and prepare reports. Prepares correspondence to clients, counsel, and courts. May appear in court as an expert witness on behalf of the organization regarding our records. Senior position provides analysis, assistance and recommendations in defensive litigation cases.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Two to five years of experience in legal documentation activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program
  • Bankruptcy Filings and Plan Reviews
  • Credit Card Collections
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to perform research and analysis
  • General knowledge of legal and regulatory issues
  • Experience working with secured and unsecured debt
  • Bankruptcy experience working in a Law Firm, Courthouse, Trustee Office, or Financial Institution

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $24.90 - $33.17 - $36.49
