What to Expect

As a Controls Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with your project team, design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate will be key in coordinating and facilitating various aspects of the construction process. The ideal candidate has technical knowledge in Electrical, mechanical, chemical and gas systems with strong instrumentation and controls experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the project buy-out process, including bid packages, RFPs, contracts, Scopes of Work, and Work Orders
  • Collaborate with superintendents to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
  • Work with design teams to review plans, resolve design clashes, and ensure project alignment
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports
  • Proficient in control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment and troubleshoot process control systems (control valves, flow meters, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, actuators, leak switches)
  • Experience with low voltage systems such as building automation, security, and data communication networks
  • Interpret and use electrical schematics, control diagrams and P&IDs for installation and troubleshooting HVAC equipment, Process skids, and MFG equipment
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience specializing in low voltage and controls systems including Life Safety Systems HAZMAT
  • 10+ years of experience managing construction projects in large industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding in comprehending wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings. Including but not limited to motor controls, drives, and electronic components
  • Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC
  • Proficiency in project management software e.g., Asana, MS Project, P6 and tools like Excel and AutoCAD
  • OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical codes e.g., NEC, NFPA and best practices
