Proficiency in reading P&IDs and technical specifications is key
Interface with engineers to develop alternative designs to overcome field install and commissioning issues. This include submitting engineering "request for information", performing field walks, design exploration meetings to resolve issues in a timely fashion
Liaison with facilities operations and manufacturing teams to turnover completed and functional utility process. And ensure that no outstanding design or implementation punch list items remain.
Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Supporting controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading and new installation of systems by consulting manuals, reading, and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment
Work on projects throughout the entire facility, installing devices and using lifts and ladders. Continues to perform equipment troubleshooting and similar duties that require no oversight or direction. Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience as Instrumentation & Controls technician in industrial/commercial or lab/R&D environments
Strong understanding in comprehending wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings, Strong knowledge in motor controls, drives, and electronic components
Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC
Working knowledge of networking and telecommunication wiring
Strong willingness to collaborate cross-functionally, work hands-on, and dive into open-ended projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work in field conditions that may require the candidate to operate lifts and use of common power and hand tools
Self-directed with the ability to be resourceful, plan and organize work
