Key Responsibilities
Ensure the EHS AGS-FT operation complies fully with all National/Local Environment, Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Applied Materials EHS Policies and Standards.
Support the design, development and implementation of EHS programs designed to minimize employee exposure to workplace stressors for the North American AGS-FT sites and offices.
Interface with local regulatory agency officials as needed.
Represent company during inspections, audits and EHS compliance.
Manage and maintain EHS recordkeeping systems to track incidents, training and actions.
Track and trend EHS related legislation and take appropriate action to ensure compliance.
Assist the Senior Director of North America EHS in development of the EHS annual strategy and budget; liaison with AGS leadership on strategic alignment.
Execute on specific strategic actions to drive performance improvements and alignment to overall global strategy for NA AGS.
Communicate EHS issues to all necessary management and employees.
Generate necessary reports and documentation including compilation of safety trends and metrics on EHS performance and communication of key metrics.
Interface with customers on any EHS concerns with products and services.
Collaborate with customers to ensure minimum safety standards are met while working at customer’s facilities.
Represent Applied Materials EHS in customer meetings and respond to inquiries or escalations at customer sites.
Ability to be a change agent, to lead effective change management within the EHS and AGS organization as new programs are developed and rolled out
Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals to successfully implement annual EHS strategy and prioritize individual development and competency skill growth.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of environmental and safetyprinciples/regulationsand Health Standards.
Strong leadership skills in order to perform at a high level across a matrix organization as well as during the preparation and implementation of Emergency Response/Crisis Management plans.
Must be able to effectively communicate authoritatively, both orally and in written format
Knowledge of EHS Management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001:2004.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have superb people skills that include ability to coach, mentor and influence
Computer proficiency with MS Office and related software programs.
Develop comprehensive presentations to aid in the communications and/or program level reviews.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to work in multi-functional and dynamic environment
Experience working in a compliance role in a Semiconductor, Manufacturing and/or field services roles
Experience working with international staff or team members
Knowledge and application of Human & Organizational Performance concepts
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Sciences or related scientific technical field.
Minimum of ten (10) plus years of experience in Environment, Health and Safety required with a track record to implement EHS programs successfully in a dynamic corporate environment. Minimum of 5+ years in a leadership role.
