Your impact

As a Scheduling Manager for our Asia Pacific Energy and Power Team, you will manage project planning and scheduling resources and activities. You’ll be key in coordinating with our project delivery and technical staff to effectively and efficiently deliver project planning and scheduling services that support business group operations and projects.

You will lead the planning and Scheduling function on key projects, developing schedules for the delivery of Jacobs Services as well as providing expert review of the Project execution plans of external contractors and Clients. This may include the consolidation into a master schedule, the scheduling and planning material provided by others.

You’ll be responsible to collaborate, develop and maintain solid relationships across multifunctional teams.

Other Service Accountabilities

  • As a Scheduling Manager, you will lead the project planning and scheduling team, working closely with our Global Design Centres, Project Managers and Cost Control, engineering team and site construction personnel to develop clear and meaningful services and Project execution schedules
  • You will lead the analysis of schedules developed by Jacobs or other project participants checking all Schedule parameters for accurate structure, logic, durations, sequencing, dependencies, progress measurements resourcing, costs and critical path and float representation. Develop response plans to recover schedule when required.

In this role:

  • You will work closely with the project teams delivering a clear understanding of project and portfolio planning issues and be able to articulate key issues regarding all aspects of services and project scheduling to Project Managers, Clients, Contractors and other key stakeholders.
  • You will work towards collective solutions within projects and drive year-on-year continuous performance improvements across the business and actively contributing towards successfully achieving Jacobs’ strategy.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assigning planning and scheduling resources to projects to provides support for internal needs, project delivery and client facing roles
  • Champion the planning and scheduling function across the region and support and maintain the planning and scheduling function capability.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to services and project planning and scheduling staff to support excellence in the function and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance to planning and scheduling staff to ensure adherence to policies.
  • Create and maintain client-based relationships.
  • Manage complex project schedules using a standard work breakdown structure.
  • Generate cash flow projections and analyse same against available sources of funds.
  • Perform comparative reviews of project schedules to identify any misalignment.
  • Assist with detailed cost-to-complete studies for projects at regular intervals.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and reporting of various program metrics.
  • Process, analyse, and present data in an easily digestible format.
  • Work with colleagues to formulate and document policies and procedures, especially for new processes and initiatives.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or construction management or a related field, Advance degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in consulting services and project scheduling (including study, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases), preferably in the power generation or energy sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex project schedules.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (particularly Primavera P6,)
  • Travel to different project sites may be required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyse Earned Value Management and Forecasting.
