Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage indirect tax audits. Sales & use tax, personal property tax and gross receipts taxes.
  • Research and keep abreast of new tax developments that will have a potential impact on the company and its affiliates.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with a variety of teams, including AP, Product, Legal, Accounting, and Finance.
  • Research and respond to indirect tax related inquiries.
  • Deliver timely and accurate indirect tax advice to business units .
  • Consult and advise of the maintenance of tax software such as Avalara and OneSource,

for new products and services, and other technology initiatives.

  • Assist with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, and/or other structuring projects.
  • Participate in other various tax related projects.

Responsibilities:

Drive or assist in the preparation and analysis of various tax-related projects.

Manage sales/use/property tax audits, preparing schedules/support for auditor document requests.

Assist and advise on tax software updates for new products and services.

The individual will gather information; provide support, use strong analytical skills to perform technical analysis of large volumes of data, moderately complex reporting, and audits to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. This will require coordination of work with external consultants and internal stakeholders to drive results.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Indirect Tax from public accounting and/or industry
  • Proficiency in Indirect Tax and research tools (Vertex or equivalent, CCH or RIA)
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work independently as well as cross functionally
  • Personal property tax, VAT, and Canadian GST/HST experience a plus
