Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Leads a team of 7-8direct reports, inclusive of individual contributors and leaders who lead medium sized field teams assigned by regions.
  • Ensures a culture of engagement with a clear vision for success. Can take complex strategy and direction and ensure team understanding.
  • Is a leader within the market access function, bringing value within the Patient Access Services team and across other market access teams. Has potential for broader leadership roles within market access.
  • Works collaboratively across the broader market access function to bring the best possible results/access for patients.
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring strategic initiatives that drive patient access to therapy and maximize patient acquisition and retention for dermatology products.
  • Lead development of customer experience strategy and translate strategy into industry-leading support programs for patients, patientcaregivers and HCPs (for example, benefit investigation, co-pay assistance, patient assistance program, field based educational programs, etc.) including self-service digital as well as hub support offerings.
  • Lead process to evaluate and establish patient hub services and vendor partners.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Team and Trade on designing the distribution strategy, distribution network and channels.
  • Manage operational aspects patient support programs.
  • Design, establish, and manage an overall monitoring and controls mechanism for support being provided to patients and HCPs.
  • Design, establish, and manage the reporting of ongoing operational performance analytics.
  • Oversee budgeting and budget management.
  • Design, establish, and manage advanced analytics and insights capabilities to provide ongoing market feedback to leadership and the broader organization.
  • Ensure all relevant SOPs and work instructions are developed and maintained.
  • Monitor market insights to establish continuous improvement processes- consistently assess and adjust support being provided to patients and HCPs.
  • Recruit, train, manage and develop staff as required.
  • Coaches team on the development and coaching of teams and ensures clear plans with a focus on delivering results.
  • Liaise with different functions within the company, including Legal, Commercial, Consumer, Medical Affairs, Quality, Patient Advocacy – including in the development of all patient-directed support materials (print, digital, telephonic).
  • Create internal training, and ensure market messaging, digital presence, and other awareness efforts clearly articulate the features and benefits of dermatology support programs.
  • Participate in the internal medical legal copy review and approval process for patient/HCP support materials (education, promotion, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies in all aspects of program operations.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (advanced degree preferred) with 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry with at least 5 years of experience working in patient services / hub services and experience with direct program oversight responsibilities.
  • Current dermatology, immunology and specialty biologics and product launch experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in managing various market segments including distribution, patient access and field reimbursement,
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial reimbursements and programs, Federal Marketplace (VA/DoD), State Societies, Regional Health Plans, National Health Plans, Physician Networks, Clinical Pathways, and product distribution (i.e., Retail, Specialty Pharmacies and Distributors).
  • Strong understanding and experience of working within the payer environment and drivers for reimbursement.
  • Proven leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically across the full business and to translate strategy into tactical implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, and ability to motivate colleagues at all levels to execute on strategy. Driving strong culture and performance results.Can deliver results and communicate a leadership level performance narrative.
  • Teamwork and leadership skills, including the ability to gain consensus across the US organization.
  • Results oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate information and to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard programs (Word, Excel, Power point).
