Key Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for creating effective and pragmatic transport security
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of recent developments and concerns with standard protocols such as TLS
  • Experience with TLS, X.509 certificate evaluation, or other secure protocols
  • Excellent Swift, Objective-C, or C programming skills
  • Systems/OS development experience
  • Industry exposure to and knowledge of OS security and applied cryptography
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Working multi-functionally with other software, hardware, marketing, and support teams to provide the best security solutions for Apple’s products
  • Excellent teamwork skills. We work with all engineering teams involved in these products, and on all of their code.
Description
Successful candidates will be generalists capable of tackling challenging wide-ranging engineering problems anywhere in the software stack, determining the appropriate compromise between several often competing factors such as ease of use, performance, and of course security. Our environment fosters product innovation, rapid product iteration, and a liberating amount of autonomy in which you will be encouraged to create and quickly bring to market new security methods and technologies to address the complex needs of mobile and distributed computing. The position also has a strong multi-functional aspect that will require you to interact with and influence many people from several organizations within and outside the company.In this role you will:Help define the security properties and architecture for the next-generation operating systemInvestigate and implement the next evolution in secure protocolsPromote and drive the adoption of these technologies across the organization
Education & Experience
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/skills
Additional Requirements
  • Preferred Experience:
  • * iOS and macOS exposure (end user, administrator and/or developer)
  • * Involvement in open source technologies and development communities such as OpenSSL, FreeBSD and Linux
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
