About the job

You will support the ViA Team who add value to EY and our Clients with the provision of specialist knowledge, insight, and objectivity in support of the audit of financial statements. You have excellent analytical and report writing skills, are motivated to develop a ‘valuer mindset’ and build the requisite foundations to competently review investment valuations throughout Europe, the UK and wider international jurisdictions covering the main institutional asset classes.

You have gained an RICS accredited degree and have completed a RE valuation program as part of your studies. You have a keen interest in valuation and an appreciation of what constitutes relevant comparable evidence and its importance in the credibility of any valuation opinion. You will gain exposure with Clients and Independent Valuers and will be involved in our processes to source further supporting information, and where necessary, challenge methods, assumptions, valuation rationale and conclusions with professional skepticism.

You will gain a working knowledge of the valuation professional standards, and local legal and regulatory requirements that are mandatory from a valuation perspective, and, develop a fundamental understanding of the principles of the Red Book Global, IVS and IFRS 13.

The position will commence in September 2024. You will be required to relocate to Luxembourg and detailed terms of the contract will be provided by EY Human Resources upon application.

About You

You are a graduate of an RICS accredited degree with an appreciation of valuation mathematics and the main investment valuation methods; the Investment Method, DCF and the Residual methods.

You take pride in your work and possess the diligence, discipline and resourcefulness that ensures your work is undertaken to a high standard and that conclusions drawn are credible and accurate. You have an inquisitive and open mind and are prepared to learn and understand alternative valuation perspectives and local market practices.

You are implicitly motivated, believe in ethical professional practice and understand what is meant by competent, independent and objective valuation work. You have a keen interest in the wider macro-economic issues and their effect on RE markets, and, ultimately want to build your reputation as a ‘Specialist’ within the RE industry, valuation or otherwise.

Preferred knowledge/skills

  • Preferably a RICS accredited degree graduate and/or a current RICS APC Candidate;
  • Demonstrable analytical and numerical excellence;
  • General appreciation of valuation standards;
  • A fluent level of English; German considered to be advantageous;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team and the flexibility to prioritise multiple tasks/engagements often under challenging timescales;
  • IT proficiency and a working familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
