As a Distribution Account Manager at BMC Software, you will play a crucial role in managing distribution channels and driving growth. You will use your knowledge of sales methodologies and distribution models to build strong relationships, ensure accurate forecasting, and support the success of our partners. This is a remote position with some travel within the U.S.
• Manage distribution sales partners across the U.S.
• Ensure distributor forecasts, projects, and contacts are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain and modify distribution channel partnerships to achieve results.
• Implement performance improvement plans for distribution partners as needed.
• Collaborate on growth strategies with internal management and distribution partners.
• Develop and implement 1- and 3-year plans for distribution partners.
• Coordinate technical development with distribution partners.
• Maintain strong distributor relationships to maximize sales and profits.
• Share market intelligence that may impact competitiveness.
• Participate in trade shows and exhibitions with distribution partners.
• Ensure timely reporting of required information, including customer calls, expenses, itineraries, and monthly reports.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset and experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the software industry with a focus on sales
• Bachelor’s and master’s degree in a technical or software-related field
• Familiarity with distribution business models and sales processes including experience with a structured sales methodology (e.g., MEDDIC, SPIN, or Challenger Sales)
• Experience with distribution/supplier relationship management (preferred)
