Purpose of the role
This role can be based in Boxmeer (NL), Brinny, Carlow, Dunboyne (IRL), Rahway NJ, Durham NC or Westpoint PA (USA).
Primary tasks and responsibilities:
- Providing leadership for the development of project scope and design for R&D and manufacturing Animal Health capital projects at 28 sites worldwide. Ensuring application of our engineering standards within the Animal Health technology area and driving the development of innovative technologies and strategic initiatives for the business unit.
- Applying the capital management process and supporting lean methods and assessments, prioritizing and managing resources for staffing of related capital projects and initiatives.
- Ensuring the viability of process technology and facility designs of manufacturing facilities and equipment supporting the Animal Health operating unit. Assuring Safety by Design and Quality by Design are applied to all projects and providing oversight to ensure deliverables conform to company standards, are technically sound, and complete.
- Managing and developing a team of technical Subject Matter Experts and providing coaching to develop individuals by broadening their technical and managerial knowledge in their respective areas of expertise.
- Developing close working relationships and consulting with other technical functions such as Quality, Operations, Technology, and Safety to ensure the successful completion of projects and technology transfer of new and inline products.
- Providing direction and collaborating with equipment suppliers and engineering partners in the design and delivery of projects. Monitoring and appraising the work of engineering and supply chain partners in the preparation of project deliverables.
Your profile
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Significant and broad relevant engineering and/or manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnological manufacturing, gaining relevant experience in facilities and equipment design in a GMP and biosafety environment.
- Strong expertise in Capital Management Processes, hygienic design, and aseptic processing within unit operations.
- Efficient decision-making capabilities that drive tangible outcomes; adept project and time management skills that ensure on-time delivery while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Able to spend 2 – 3 days a week on one of the locations mentioned above and willing and able to travel around 20 – 50 % of your time (worldwide).
