Marketplaces have become an integral part of the global economy, providing a platform for buyers and sellers to connect and transact. However, with the increasing complexity of online marketplaces, the risks associated with them have also multiplied. As a result, detecting and mitigating risks from bad actors while enabling good seller experience, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations have become crucial. The Walmart Marketplace Risk and Platforms team builds products to enable Sellers’ growth by adhering with our marketplace standards, including legal, regulatory, and performance requirements while reducing fraud to Walmart and to our customers through proactive risk detection, real time monitoring and actioning on risk enforcements.

What you will do…

As a Staff Product Manager, you are passionate, innovative, resilient, and empathetic. You will work with cross functional teams comprised of business, engineering, design, product, research, and analytics to deliver exceptional products, features and experiences that empower the growth of the millions of businesses on our platform while ensuring the right guardrails are in place throughout the lifecycle of the Seller journey to keep bad actors out and maintain trust in Walmart brand amongst our customers. In this role you will

  • Contribute to seller risk and risk ops product vision, strategies, and OKRs based on business goals, seller needs, market and fraud trends, and risk best practices.
  • Drive product roadmaps, align business and technical requirements, oversee product execution, and mitigate risks.
  • Utilize Risk metrics and analytics to make informed decisions and refine product strategies.
  • Think proactively on how to continuously improve our products for effective risk detection and mitigation of fraud and performance risks.
  • Promote and enforce product excellence best practices. Motivate, coach, and inspire the team.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and partners, prioritize initiatives in line with business goals and gaining buy-in from leadership.
  • Embrace an agile work ethic, adopting a test and learn mentality to continuously improve and adapt products based on feedback and evolving needs.

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • You have 8+ years of experience in building risk capabilities for payments or large marketplaces.
  • Proven track record of managing complex product initiatives, including scaling through Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
  • You have led and or build capabilities across identify, fraud, risk lifecycle management, and performance enforcements enabled via automation and business operations tooling.
  • You are customer obsessed and always think about how to use cutting-edge technologies for faster risk detection, monitoring, and actioning against potential bad actors.
  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity and can navigate large stakeholder groups across product divisions, business, operations, design, and engineering.
  • You have experience & strong bias for working with data scientists; have a strong acumen for building platforms and automation tools.
  • You can demonstrate strong, confident, and succinct communication.

  • Work closely with key partners across the organization in Business, Engineering, UX, Data analytics, Operations, and other product teams to develop and own a strategy that supports risk needs, is clearly articulated, easily understood, and delivers meaningful value to our sellers and Marketplace business.
  • Develop an actionable roadmap that empowers your team to realize the product strategy and execute that strategy with well measured goals. Prioritize work thoughtfully and communicate commitments and updates to partners on an ongoing cadence.
  • Develop and own accountability for the performance of key metrics that help us understand the value of the platform to our sellers and set product priorities.
  • Love to Integrate user research, market analysis, and customer feedback into product requirements to ensure products satisfy customer needs, as well as wants.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with your key stakeholders, identifying the right opportunities for collaboration and communication on an ongoing basis.
  • Moving fast within our agile and iterative team environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: - Stock Minimum Qualifications...
