Job title: Advanced Mechanical Engineer
Job type: Full time, 37 hours p/w week, flexi time available (core hours are 0900-1600 M-T and 0900-1200 on Friday).
Key Responsibilities:
This role is based in Gas Detection, you will generate innovative product designs, with responsibility for all aspects of the mechanical design process, to facilitate delivery of innovative solutions for both current product portfolio and work with new products within negotiated deadlines and controlled costs.
Maintain and improve production quality and efficiency, including bringing legacy data up to the latest standards in line with best practice.
Lead or assist value engineering activities. Provide product design support for other key projects as required by the Research & Development projects roadmap all the way to product launch (New Product Introduction)
Generate Engineering Change Notes and their associated documentation, (reports, drawing packs etc.) progressing them through to completion.
Holder of a HNC, HND, degree or similar in Mechanical, Design or Product Engineering
Proven design experience for small, high-volume assemblies using injection molded, pressed, machined and gasket parts.
Good skills and experience in designing sealed units for aggressive requirements and using simulation tools for stress analysis.
