As a CBI Banker within Commercial Bank International, you’ll manage J.P. Morgan's overall relationships with the Japan-based subsidiaries of global multinational commercial banking clients. The Japan Commercial Banking International team serves as our clients’ trusted advisors on the ground, supporting them in meeting their objectives regarding market entry and expansion and proposing creative solutions to their challenges in working capital, cash management, FX, and liquidity management. Clients benefit from dedicated coverage provided by the team, who deliver the firm's extensive product platform and presence in Japan.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop strategic account planning for targeted clients in close coordination with parent team and regional team including conducting comprehensive client analysis to identify business needs that align with J.P. Morgan's broad array of banking products
  • Manage the end-to-end relationships for a portfolio of existing clients, performing sustainable service, advisory, and identifying incremental latent needs and cross-sell opportunities
  • Operate within an optimized coverage model for the client franchise working and coordinating with business partners such as Treasury Services, Foreign Exchange and other lines of business
  • Deliver against financial targets including revenue growth, business promoter growth, closed new business, calling intensity and forward-looking pipeline
  • Promote thought leadership by highlighting emerging trends and potential opportunities and pursue internal and external education efforts for clients and colleagues on relevant topics
  • Perform ongoing due diligence and KYC refresh of portfolio clients to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations governing commercial banking activities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in banking, corporate finance, consulting, or similar financial or client-facing business field
  • Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to read, write and speak English and Japanese
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgement, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and commitment, as well as a strong business sense with a strategic, conceptual and operational orientation
  • Strong influencing skills and proven track record of navigating cross-cultural environments

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s degree
  • Strong background in treasury services, and transactional FX products
  • Established network or experience with handling multinational corporate or commercial banking clients in Japan
  • Familiarity with Credit
  • Japan Securities Dealers Association Class 1 Sales Representative
  • CAMS Certification
