About this role:

The Allowance group within CCAST is seeking to add an experienced, highly motivated credit risk professional to its Commercial Allowance Team. This individual will provide overall support for the quarterly Commercial Loan and Debt Securities/Other Assets Allowance and Stress Test processes, including associated analysis, reporting, presentations, narratives, and documentation. This individual will be responsible for a wide variety of job functions that require a diverse skill set. In addition, this individual will have exposure to numerous team members throughout the company, therefore the ability to create strategic partnerships will be important.


In this role, you will:

• Use analytical tools (Excel, TM1, Tableau, SQL, etc.) to work with data to create meaningful reports for the Allowance and Stress Test processes.
• Analyze the impact of changes to the underlying factors driving variances in the allowance requirements.
• Prepare insightful presentations, analysis, and memoranda for management, audit, or regulator review.
• Document and work on enhancement of business processes and controls that are impactful to the quarterly allowance and stress tests.
• Measure and analyze impairment amounts in stressed portfolios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with internal and external auditors, bank regulators, as well as other oversight groups.
• Review work of others and provide value-added feedback.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, combined with strong leadership skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills.
  • Direct experience with commercial loan or debt securities credit risk and/or the Allowance for Credit Losses at a large financial institution.
  • Strong technical/data skills, including strong Excel skills and familiarity working with large relational databases.
  • Demonstrable experience writing narratives and creating presentations for executive management, regulator, or auditor consumption, with the ability to communicate concepts clearly to management and other readers.
  • Self-starter, with a strong sense of initiative and a high-level attention to detail. Must be able to identify, assess the impact of, and correct or offer solutions to potential errors or problems.
