Job Description

As an experienced planning professional you will shape the future of Philips’ planning workforce by developing capabilities via transformational upskilling strategies.

In this role you will design, orchestrate, and implement robust role frameworks, job profiles and competency , upskilling and training frameworks to support planning communities. You will collaborate cross-functionally to support the transformation of our planning processes and the implementation of advanced planning technology solutions.

You will support multi year change and upskilling initiatives brought by technology evolutions across the end-to-end supply chain. you will work with a broader team who are shaping the future of planning by leading transformative changes and driving excellence in planning.

You will collaborate with the Centre of Excellences, training providers, and a broad network of planning stakeholders to develop and maintain job profiles, planning capabilities, and comprehensive frameworks that drive innovation and continuous improvement within the planning function.


Your role:

  • Designing Role Frameworks and job profiles: Develop and implement comprehensive role frameworks that support new planning processes and organizational transformation.

  • Developing Competency Frameworks: Create and maintain competency frameworks that define the skills and expertise required for various roles within the planning function.

  • Identifying Capability Gaps and Strategies: Collaborate with business units and regions to identify capability gaps and develop strategies to address them.

  • Training Curriculum Development: Define, design, and manage training curriculums to ensure skill development for effective planning. This includes creating outlines for proposed learning solutions, setting specifications for material development, and considering delivery approaches and channels in the design phase.

  • Project Management: Manage learning projects end-to-end in accordance with agreed conditions of time, cost, and scope using Philips Project Management Standards and tools.

  • Delivery of Capability Building: Ensure the effective delivery of capability-building initiatives, focusing on upskilling and continuous learning.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance on developed learning solutions, considering their effectiveness and user experience.

  • Leading Training Workstreams: Lead training workstreams for key transformation programs, working closely with process experts and project managers to support implementation, adoption, and sustained capability. Ensure that business units and regions are equipped with the right upskilling.

  • Role Standards and Capability Matrix: Define and maintain role standards and a capability matrix to support organizational needs.

  • Project Coordination and Quality Assessment: Provide coordination, guidance, and quality assessment of overall project progress and its impact in the areas of training and capability building.


You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent (e.g., HR, learning, psychology, supply chain management).

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, finance, or related fields with significant exposure to learning and development, competency frameworks, and training design. Experience in doing so in planning and supply chain transformation is highly preferred.

  • Planning Expertise: Deep understanding of supply chain planning principles, including demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management. Proficiency in advanced planning software (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, O9, Blue Yonder) and data analytics tools.

  • Competency Development: Proven experience in developing and implementing competency frameworks that enhance organizational capabilities. Ability to define the skills and expertise required for various roles within the planning function.

  • Training and Upskilling: Expertise in designing and delivering training programs that build essential skills and competencies. Experience in creating tailored training curriculums and leveraging various delivery methods (e.g., in-person, online, blended learning).

  • Project Management: Demonstrated project management experience, particularly in managing large-scale training and development projects. Proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess needs, identify gaps, and drive data-driven decisions. Ability to frame and solve complex problems effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change within the organization. Capable of leading conversations that drive optimized decisions with multiple stakeholders.

  • Leadership and collaboration: Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships and influence at different levels of the organization. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. A positive, pro active can-do attitude with a solution focused mindset.

  • Adaptability and Innovation: Committed to continuous improvement and innovation in planning processes, competency development, and training methodologies. Ability to stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate innovative practices into the planning function.
