- Develop manufacturing equipmentand processes from pilot prototypes to full scale ramp
- Determine and procure equipmentthat is necessary for all manufacturing processes used to build theproduct
- Work with equipment integratorsto design and manufacture equipment and fixtures for medium to high-volumeproduction
- Manage suppliers duringspecification, design, buyoff and installation of manufacturing equipment
- Characterize and validate newequipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor
- Determine layout of productionworkstations for product flow, ergonomics, and efficiency
- Perform process analysis, DOE (design of experiments),PFMEA, line balancing activities, and capacity modeling/simulation
- Provide DFM (design formanufacturability) input to design team for process and yieldimprovements
- Create detailed manufacturinginstructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes andequipment
- Degree in Mechanical,Manufacturing, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience leading a team of engineers in a manufacturing setting and 5+ years working in a body in white manufacturing environment
- Experience with MIG & spotwelding, bolting, and riveting joints
- Experience with robotprogramming, backup, and restoration for Fanuc
- Experience with PLC programming(Siemens), troubleshooting, and configuration
- Experience in developingelectrical schematics is a plus
- Experience creating technicalspecifications for automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience introducing newproducts and new processes from a prototype environment to a productionenvironment
- Experience providing design for manufacturability and automation with experience designing production linelayouts in AutoCAD
- Proficiency designingmechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA)
