Key job responsibilities
- Installation of cabling infrastructure in a data centre environment
- Understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems (Copper/Fibre test equipment, OTDR, Network analyser, VFL etc.)
- Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, and updates to Foreman/PM
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office conditions
- Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors
- Manage, check, and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily
- Physical audit of cable basket capacity and Fire opening audits throughout the data centres
- Scaling forecast heatmap comparison to current basket capacity to help identify potential lockers
- Create basket remediation projects and check baskets structural integrity- Complete a QA survey on completion
- QA audits of New DC builds from room1 to all subsequent rooms
- Identify and report on issues and submit a proposed remediation plan- Initiate regular training sessions for AWS staff as well as cabling vendors and contractors.

- High school or equivalent diploma
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling & basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- 2 years+ project management experience on medium to large scale projects.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management) is a plus.
- Safe Pass & Manual Handling.
