As a Country Controller for 3M Mexico, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading the accounting deliveries for 3M Mexico.
- Ensuring financial compliance in deliverance of US GAAP and local Statutory Standards.
- Leading the Month-end close together with the shared service center.
- Collaborating with external service providers.
- Internal and external reporting.
- Ensuring strong internal controls in financial processes covering the local country team and Global Service Center (GSC).
- Providing guidance to upstream functions on full compliance with Global Financial Standard (GFS), Sox, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining uncompromising ethics and integrity, driving a compliance mindset in Controllers and upstream functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for local month-end closing activities and transmission of monthly financial statements as per assigned transmission date.
- Responsible for leading the Controllership team in Mexico City
- Work closely with the GSC to ensure activities are properly executed and gaps are resolved.
- Work closely with local and global teams on all M&A activities/projects ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Strong collaboration with Finance cross-stream functions, Treasury, Tax, Audit, Enterprise Ops, to provide guidance on internal controls and compliance with agreed procedures.
- Regular review of Balance Sheet reconciliation to ensure all outstanding items are current, addressing aged items appropriately.
- Lead local and regional projects to align with global processes and utilize standard reports and tools.
- Provide guidance, training, and development for the Controllers team.
- Ensure internal audit comments in Controllers function are properly and sustainably remediated.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s, preferably master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Experience leading Finance Teams in complex environments
- Advance English and Spanish are required
- Balance Sheet, P&L expertise is needed
- Proven Leadership skills working with Senior Leadership
- More than 10 years of experience with GAAP accounting or audit.
- English language proficiency.

Work Type
