This position demands a highly adaptable and flexible individual capable of navigating a diverse range of client issues, as the nature of the program's work is varied. The ideal candidate should be at ease assuming various delivery roles and tackling the associated challenges inherent to this role.
Prior consulting experience is a must, with a strong track record in delivering Finance Transformation programmes in the Financial Services Industry.
Your key responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading on large and complex end to end Finance Transformations for clients in the Banking, Capital Markets or Insurance sector
Run requirements gathering, assess the As Is Organisation Structure, Processes & Controls and existing Operating Model
Working Day Timetable design with delivering an accelerated Working Day Close
Lead design workshops and understand the client’s business requirements and translate these to a leading practice process and business design
Leading and implementing Business Readiness and Change Management to support the client into Go Live and Business as Usual (BAU)
Take charge of large workstreams or small engagements as part of being a Senior Manager at EY
Manage delivery teams including reviewing / challenging outputs produced by team members and providing guidance to junior team members
Foster a culture that encourages innovation by being a leader in this area, implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
Develop and nurture strong internal and external networks for long term relationships
Training, coaching, and supervising junior employees as well as monitoring their availability, chargeability and supporting the development of less utilised members
Take responsibility for the financial management of client engagements
Lead business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new / existing clients, leading proposals and bid teams and managing the development and delivery of high-quality proposals
To qualify for the role you must have some or all of the following:
Prior consulting experience is mandatory, ideally encompassing time spent in a Big 4 or top tier consulting firm
Prior experience delivering on large scale Finance Transformation Programmes within Financial Services preferably Banking & Capital Markets
Business Architect / Lead on Finance Transformations delivering “business focussed” aspects of a clients Target Operating Model – Organisation Design (People), Process & Controls, Working Day Timetable, Change Management, Training and Business Readiness
An understanding of how Finance Technology is used to solve our client’s business problems, work with our technology partners to support the design and implementation of various technology solutions (low code through to ERP/EPM capability) as the business design lead
Finance Transformation Experience including:
As Is assessment of a client’s operating model
Identification of pain points and requirements to underpin a Finance Transformation
Target Process Taxonomy and Process design (Level 1 – Level 4 Processes design)
Leading Practice Controls Framework and Finance Controls
Understand the Working Day Timetable and be able to redesign / improve timelines
Understanding of processes around Finance – Risk, Front Office, IT etc.
Standard Operating Procedures
Be able to deliver a Business Design which will deliver to the clients vision – increased automation & standardisation, reduced manual processes, reduced cost, leading practice processes and organisation design
Experience of 3-4 Finance Transformations in the financial services sector – preferably Banking & Capital Markets
An understanding of a typical operating model in Financial Services, what is leading practice and how this can be achieved
Confident to deliver the necessary outputs and deliverables across all Finance Transformation phases – Business Case/Discovery, Design & Implementation, Business Readiness, Testing, Training, Go Live and Post Go Live Support (Warranty)
