Reporting to the PayPal Giving Fund’s UK & Ireland Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of financial data and processing of payouts for benefitting charities.


Job Description:

PPGF UK is part of a network of 5 charities including charities in the US, Canada, Australia & Ireland.

You will be part of an inclusive and passionate 20 plus global team collaborating with a number of PayPal functions to fulfil PPGF’s mission statement.

Through your support to the Financial Controller, you will help manage the smooth granting of find to benefitting charities across the UK .

Your day to day

  • You will own the financial management of the revenue stream for PPGF UK, through managing and reconciling the revenue receipts through to granting donations to charities.
  • You will Prepare monthly reports including P&L, balance sheet and cashflows for reporting to the leadership team.
  • Overseeing payment processing, including running monthly payout reports and reconciling to banking providers.
  • Reconcile revenue and grants each month, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Monthly management of operational expenses including correct allocation of invoices, identifying recharges to group charities, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Timely reconciliations and monitoring bank balances and implementing transfers when required .
  • Gift -aid – run monthly gift aid reports, reviewing and refining the data and upload to HMRC website.
  • You will own accounting responses to customer support tickets and escalations, researching issues completely, making necessary accounting entries and payouts, and closing out tickets within agreed upon service level agreements.
  • Suggesting, planning, and helping to implement process improvements and automation in order to reduce manual effort and potential for human error.

What you need to bring

  • Educated to degree level and proactively studying towards a further accounting qualification.
  • Experience working in key accounting function in a business managing transactions at volume.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage work effectively and with limited guidance.
  • Methodical and adaptable approach
  • Ability to analyse financial data, prepare financial reports and statements as well as having proficient MS knowledge specifically Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot table.
  • Ability to interrogate and reconcile financial data.
  • Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Proficient with variety of computer software systems that support accounting and finance functions; familiarity with SAP would be beneficial.
