Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Responsible for the overall tax compliance of adidas Group and tax optimization within the frames of the applicable tax legislation. Assisted with tax audits, prepared periodic tax work papers, schedules and reports, reviewed Tax Returns prepared by the tax specialist, as well as the statutory tax report and transfer pricing studies prepared by the auditors. Conducted tax research to support tax compliance and planning as required. Establish a stable and efficient tax infrastructure to meet business needs of subsidiary and which is in accordance with global tax strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operation of all tax functions. (advisory/tax planning)
  • Plan and manage tax procedures, ensure month and year-end tax compliance correctly
  • Ensure timely preparation of all tax reports according to the country’s Tax Legislation
  • Assist external auditors
  • Review the Statutory tax reports and transfer pricing studies
  • Optimize all tax payments in compliance with local tax regulations
  • Supervising the tax compliance to identify possible distortions or improvements
  • Devise sufficient internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of the tax information
  • Oversee and maintain the ERP system and its interfaces with other applications
  • Ensure the company's income tax statements are correctly and timely delivered
  • Supervise staff and support their professional development and career enhancement
  • Ability to critically review and research tax issues to resolve them practically.
  • Manage efficient resource assignment and consumption.
  • Continuously improve tax processes
  • Responsible for Tax dept. cost center budget
  • Knowledge and experience in LAM countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Chile, among others is strongly valued

Key Relationships:

  • Manage relationship with Tax Global team, external advisors and key stakeholders

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Specialist in business or technical skills with detailed knowledge in some areas of work or systems
  • Broad & deep knowledge in own functional area, combining theoretical and practical knowledge

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in tax
  • As manager of Experts 2 – 4 years management experience required
