We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer aligned with our Water Solution Center in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you will be a part of one of the largest water market delivery centers in the southern United States. You will lead the water and wastewater facility designs for conventional and design-build projects ranging from $1M to over $250M in construction and support diverse projects around the region. With a strong backlog in both water treatment and wastewater treatment projects, there are unlimited opportunities to focus on the technologies and growth that you desire. While being in Gainesville is preferred to support mentoring and career opportunities for our design teams and enhance coordination and efficiency on our projects, a hybrid remote arrangement is feasible depending on experience in the market and demonstrated ability to successfully work as part of distributed teams.
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will work with a core group of engineers and designers on water and wastewater treatment designs and construction services support to deliver innovative solutions to challenging technical problems that our clients face. You will work collaboratively with our team to complete the following:
- Leadership of preliminary and detailed design of water and wastewater facilities.
- Quality control for project design in the office and around the region.
- Understandand apply electrical codes, standards, and legislation.
- Evaluation and selection of electrical systems, such as medium versus low voltage, and equipment such as Switchgear, Motor Control Center.
- Evaluation and selection of process control instruments, such as pressure, flow, level meters, and analyzers.
- Development of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Construction services support, startup support.
- Mentoring ofstaff including both engineers and designers.
You will also use your technical skills to work with diverse, technical teams to deliver challenging projects while serving and developing clients across the United States and internationally. - Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- A minimum of 10 years of electrical or instrumentation engineering and project delivery experience with water, wastewater, and/or industrial treatment, including planning, evaluations, and design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams of engineers and designers in the production of construction documents.
- Demonstratedability to coordinate between multiple engineering disciplines.
- Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience specific to municipal wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
- Field experience with electrical testing equipment, and arc-flash awareness.
- Successful experience working with remote domestic and international staff.
- Ability to serve as the technical liaison between the project owner and the design team.
