Key job responsibilitiesAs a Software Engineer on the Kindle Measurements & Insights team, you will take on exciting and challenging projects that help drive data-driven decisions across the organization. You will work with other engineers in your team, business leaders, and other talented engineering teams while you design, architect, and implement for Kindle Reader iOS, Android, FireOS app and E-Reader. You will have lots of opportunities to think big and drive architecture decisions across OS, applications, and services to deliver real world customer impacts. We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented senior software engineer who has experience building mission critical, high volume applications that customers love. Someone who has expertise working with C++, Java/Kotlin based systems and has the ability to quickly learn and contribute in other programming languages as needed.A day in the life

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Familiarity with AWS technologies like EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, CloudWatch, S3 etc.
- Experience programming in C++, Java/Kotlin, Swift
- Ability to effectively communicate with users, technical teams, and leadership to gather requirements, describe features and designs, and shape product strategy
