CMO Specialist

The CMO Manager will be aligned to one of our high-profile TFOs (Tax and Finance Operations) and managing contract from a commercial, financial and engagement perspective. TFOs are a strategic priority for EY Tax and UKI Tax has won major global contracts within Telecommunications and Pharmaceuticals to name just a few. The Manager will assist the TFO Director/Partner to deliver the deal finances and contractual requirements for the deal. You should be commercially minded and have some finance and engagement management experience. It is equally important that you can coach and develop junior members of the CMO team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the client deal financials.
  • Work with the Management Lead and CMO team to ensure the contract is being executed as it was written and intended.
  • Identify the areas of risk and implement solutions to reduce them.
  • Review the existing processes for billing, budgets, forecast and cashflow position across the deal.
  • Develop management information models that can support relevant stakeholders to make informed decision about the financial impact and direction.
  • Review and challenge financial performance and make recommendations for improving profitability.
  • Understand country fee allocation methodology of in scope and out of scope deliverables and improve communication with local stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop junior members of the team.
  • Support other TFO contracts as and when necessary.

  • Proactive self-starter who demonstrates business acumen through understanding and prioritising business challenges.
  • Able to shape new solutions, implement best practise and processes to optimise the deal’s financial performance.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Robust understanding of financial and commercial drivers and interdependencies.
  • Flexible to meet changing needs.
  • Desire to share knowledge and enhance the skills of less experienced team members.
  • A recognised global accounting qualification.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in coaching more junior team members through work shadowing, answering questions etc.
