Job Description

As a Paralegal at Philips, you support Legal Counsel with legal research, legal advice, drafting and negotiating legal documents, organizing, and maintaining files and know-how and you will act as the primary contact point for general legal questions.

Your role:

  • Advising on and reviewing, drafting & negotiating standardized contract types, related documents and handling questions based on standardized guidelines issued by Legal Counsel, while independently identifying and deciding on escalation to the responsible Legal Counsel where needed.

  • Interacting with colleagues from the business on a regular basis, answering their day-to-day questions on several specialty areas or requests (e.g., healthcare compliance marketing review, clinical contracts, signing authorizations, amendments, NDA’s).

  • Maintenance and improvement of template legal documents and ancillary documents including updates of contract structures, definitions, references, and schedule consistency, and drafting legal guidelines, quick reference cards and instructions for the business on selected legal topics, as requested by and in collaboration with Legal Counsel.

  • Keeping yourself informed and up to date in certain areas of legal expertise, giving presentations to colleagues in connection with new legal developments, IT tools and policies and maintenance of legal SharePoint content and legal toolkits containing template agreements and guidance documents.

  • Supporting and where appropriate managing legal processes and tools and implement process improvements.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent, with preferably 3 years or more of relevant work experience in the legal domain and an interest in health technology and digital and IT topics.

  • Strong communications skills, customer-first attitude and able to maintain good relations with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to take ownership, learn quickly and progressively handle more complex tasks while becoming familiar with standardized tasks, templates, and processes.

  • Excellent English language oral and written skills and communication experience in an English-speaking business environment, other languages are most welcome.

  • Excellent knowledge of Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook) or similar applications.
