Role and responsibilities:
Accountancy:
- Performs monthly, quarterly close activities under US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Supports the financial statement consolidation activities of some companies controlled by the Finnish parent company.
- Prepares and inputs journal entries and assigns accounting classifications to various records and transactions within established procedures and policy.
- Prepares or assists with tax filings, government information reports and management information reports (VAT, Income tax, wage tax, statistical info., grants, R&D tax credit, …).
- Regular communication and coordination with other Applied teams (R2R/P2P/O2C), to insure proper accounting process and documentation.
- Cooperate as and when necessary, with the external auditors, in the context of the annual audit of the Finnish GAAP (statutory) accounts.
- Assist Finance Manager, with any matter related to statutory audits, e.g. income tax, value added tax, social charges, and other similar.
Payroll:
- Compile and prepare the data file to be sent to the Local payroll provider.
- Follow-up and control of the payroll files prepared by the provider.
- Main point of contact with the payroll provider.
- Where applicable, point of contact for any questions from local employees in coordination with HR.
- Possible to act as back up in ensuring proper administration of time and absence (T&A) in Workday.
- When needed, ensure alignment of HRIS (Workday) with local requirements.
Project-basis:
- Ad-hoc project management depending on local priorities.
You will work in partnership with the local Finance Manager, HR, BU Finance Controllers, and various teams in Corporate Finance.
Your profile:
- Holder of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance / accountancy / Audit.
- Hands-on experience in Accountancy and (Finnish) Payroll Management concepts.
- Native Finnish, or equivalent.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong skills in Excel and PPT.
- SAP / Workday knowledge is a plus.
- Agility, curiosity, open-mindedness. Can-do attitude, capacity to drive change.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills. Possesses the ability to work as an integral part of a geographically and culturally diverse team.
