The
key responsibilitiesof this role include:

  • Writing software product and functional requirements considering inputs from various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Define scalable architecture for IoT applications built on Android, Yocto Embedded Linux, Ubuntu and/or Windows. Expertise in RT kernels and RTOS is a definite plus.

  • Define the Linux software upstreaming strategy across various IPs, and partner with upstream community to ensure compliance of software frameworks used within the BSP.

  • Define the software roadmap of features across various IoT business segments and publish plan for commercialization. Oversee successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones and ensuring the completed work aligns with roadmap for a product line(s)

  • Drive an extensive ecosystem of third-party software developers while identifying opportunities for software reuse, and architecture innovation that result in software roadmap optimizations that drive an efficient engineering execution strategy and a clear go to market strategy.

  • Make decisions that are significant in impact; errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.

  • Deep understanding of embedded software engineering principles

  • Deep understanding of software stacks, and distributions based on Linux

  • Reviews and identifies gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and provides recommendations to address such gaps that impact product roadmaps.

  • Reviews, prepares, and delivers technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, customer RFPs, and/or proposals to demonstrate and market product portfolios to customers and/or prospective customers, and integrates customer feedback into project roadmaps.

  • Drives portfolios launch strategies and identifies technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and ensures successful product launch.

  • Validates business cases and determines relevance to organizational strategy; contributes to the creation of the product roadmap to advance organizational strategy and goals.

  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.

  • Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).

  • Completing tasks that require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short- or long-term memory.

  • Exercising exceptional creativity to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/processes without established objectives or known parameters.

  • Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.

• 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in engineering or computer science or MBA

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience managing complete cycle of products from concept to commercialization, defining product requirements document, change requests and prioritization of commercial feature requests.

  • Deep knowledge of internals of various operating systems like Android, Yocto Linux, Ubuntu, Windows IoT

  • Effective communication skills with cross functional teams, both technical and non-technical, within a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment, including experience in discussing complex ideas with partners, customers, and executives

Pay range:

$171,000.00 - $256,000.00
