Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the architecture and implementation of custom hardware accelerators and/or FPGAs?

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Citizenship & Citizenship verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 18+ years technical engineering experience ORBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience
  • ORMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience
  • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.

  • Specifies the architectureand microarchitectureofaccelerators on FPGA and on custom silicon.Evaluates architecture trade-offs, performance, overall area, power, and complexity.
  • others on the creation of single/multiple project implementation schedules andanticipatesproject implementation issues. Proposes changes to project schedules and designs to mitigate risks.
  • Writes internal device specification sheets. Suggests modifications for internal device specifications and data sheets based on theirexpertiseand anticipation of needs for hardware design and testing of future products.Identifiesways to add value to existing products and testing procedures. Influences future device specifications.
