The Social Strategist role will sit within the Brand, Communications and Social team supporting a Market in EMEA. Strong knowledge of written and spoken English is vital and knowledge of another EMEA language would be an advantage for example Spanish, French, German, Arabic or Italian. As a valued member of the team, you will connect with internal and external target audiences to drive attention, advocacy and action for IBM while uncovering trends and insights. In the role you will work closely with all areas of marketing and communications to infuse social activity into their work – creating strong relevance, preference and an emotional connection to IBM, its offerings and capabilities.

Core tasks:
Management and execution lead for market brand social accounts: strategy, execution, issues, compliance and CX to ensure we listen and engage with our audience.

Organic strategy for global brand advertising and social assets: drawing upon local market priorities, moments and audience insights to identify engaging opportunities to adapt, transcreate and launch brand and social creative assets using social, influencers, employee advocacy, ecosystem partners, etc.

  • Social content advisor and creator: ensuring written and visual social content is designed and tailored to the platform for maximum impact while mapping to corporate strategy/messages (videos, blogs, thought leadership etc.).
  • Social Performance Insights: data analysis, trends and social listening to inform strategy and impact.
  • Editorial council leader: ensuring the right balance of stories, activities and content are executed via social – tight alignment with comms is vital to jump on news moments and new local stories.
  • Digital employee advocacy leader: training, inspiring and activating IBMers to amplify IBM news, products and top messages.
  • External influencer leader: working directly with respected third parties to expand IBM’s story.
  • Local client stories: partnering with local communications team to discover and co launch new client stories and lead on the social strategy design and execution for social led story announcements.
  • EMEA, Global and local market moments, announcements and events: social strategy and execution for large moments that impact market.

This is a Hybrid role, attendance at the office will be required only 3 times per week.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • The ideal person will have a strong working knowledge and practical experience of social media strategy and execution.
  • Knowledge of video editing, Adobe Illustrator and social content creation would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of written and spoken English is vital and knowledge of another EMEA language would be an advantage for example Spanish, French, German, Arabic or Italian.
