The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:Lead global marketing initiatives and programs with a focus on commercialization excellence across sales, end-users, and channel, driving growth and achieving strategic business objectives on a global scale.

As a Global Marketing Excellence Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the annual marketing planning process, developing, and deploying marketing strategies, processes, and operational models based on that marketing plan.
  • Driving marketing priorities and projects globally, ensuring alignment through areas with collaborative leadership and communication across cross-functional global and regional marketing teams (e.g., Global Product Leaders, Area Product Leaders, Area Marketing Operations Leaders, Marketing Activation, Integrated Marketing etc.).
  • Managing global marketing operations for campaigns, insights, new product introductions (NPIs), user experience, and global admerch budgets to ensure effective commercialization through sales, end-users, and channel.
  • Developing and measuring marketing performance globally based on business objectives, sales, and growth targets. Analyzing performance to provide insights and recommendations for program optimization.
  • Acting as a change agent, driving innovation and transformation within the marketing function. Leading initiatives to adopt innovative marketing approaches, technologies, and activations for growth.
  • Prioritizing needs and collaborating with the Global Marketing Center on marketing workstreams (e.g. Integrated Marketing, Insights, Brand) capability needs, optimizing implementations for division results, adoption, and global scale.


To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, marketing or business degrees preferred (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Five (5) years of marketing experience in a business-to-businessprivate, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA or master’s degree in marketing from an accredited institution
  • Proven experience in portfolio leadership and marketing operations/strategy, or a related role within a global organization
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the annual marketing planning process and developing marketing strategies, processes, and operational models
  • Ability to turn information & observations into actionable insights for the business.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time commitments
  • Having a proactive work style and approach to deliverables & deadlines
  • Good analytic abilities, especially around marketing metrics & performance
  • Strategic thinking abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead with positivity and inclusivity
  • Motivated to find success for customers, the business teams, and individually

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to headquarters at least 3 days per week)
  • Oakdale, MN
