Job Description

The EMEA Category Sourcing Leader role is pivotal in driving regional strategy, cost productivity, cash improvement and efficiencies through management of the EMEA suppliers base for the Category. The role supports Regional Sourcing leaders and collaborates with GEHC Global Category Sourcing Directors and SBU business Leaders.

The role

The EMEA Category Sourcing Leader will report directly to the Regional Sourcing Manager and will be dotted-lined to Global Category Sourcing Directors.

Regional Sourcing Leaders dedicated to the same Category will be dotted line to the EMEA Category Leader

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain the business productivity metrics for Indirect Sourcing in the Region, ensuring their accuracy, identifying new areas of opportunity to drive cost out, cash improvement, implement operating efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement Indirect Sourcing strategy, processes or GEHC policies for the Category in their respective Region in line with GEHC Global Sourcing initiatives. Ensure regional fit and incorporates business CTQ’s.
  • Collaborate with Global Category Sourcing Managers on initiatives to ensure alignment with Global Strategy and interface between Global Category Sourcing Directors and Regional Sourcing Leaders across the Category.
  • Drive business metrics affected by Indirect Sourcing.
  • Own achieving Indirect savings targets for the Category in EMEA, while also leading and owning project execution in their home geographical country. Support project execution & escalation for projects managed by Regional Sourcing Leaders in their assigned Category in EMEA.
  • Supply-base risk management, ensuring all compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Identify and own pan EMEA and cross SBU supply base.
  • Drive Session II (productivity and initiatives forecast for following year) discussions with EMEA team, aligning with Global Category Sourcing strategy, to generate cost-out and cash improvement opportunities.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, training, and support to Regional Sourcing Leaders.
  • Lead market intelligence within the Category, in strong partnership with the Global Category Leader; identify and communicate new technologies and solutions on assigned category spend areas.
  • Lead supplier contract negotiations for cross-country/region as assigned and lead regular business review with regional suppliers, ensuring suppliers meet their contractual obligations.
  • Develop regional Preferred Suppliers and manage supplier relationships and opportunities for cost-out and quality of goods and services, while ensuring production, delivery, capacity and compliance requirement.
  • Drive compliance with Preferred Suppliers across the Region and work with Region Sourcing Leaders to reduce leakage
  • Conduct detailed demand, spend, cost, market analysis and a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Leverage total volume for all SBUs to negotiate regional pricing, payment terms and other respective terms and conditions.
  • Contribute to and lead regular pan EMEA and global negotiations on behalf of GEHC
  • Collaborate with the global facilities, utilities, tools and service organizations to identify short and long term-opportunities, meet ad hoc needs as well as respond to Business requirements

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to their Category
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Purchasing Controls Procedure and associated Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that all purchased product and services conform to specified requirements.
  • Develop and maintain qualified and compliant supply base.

Key qualifications:

  • Formal sourcing qualification / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or relevant training to the Category
  • 10 years relevant experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment with a minimum of 7 years commercial sourcing experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Facilities, Maintenance, Repair, Operations & Utilities Category
  • Experience in building out procurement processes and category strategies.
  • Delivered cross border, cross SBU / Functional savings, and / or initiatives projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously and to prioritize
  • Ability to motivate and lead virtual teams
  • Ability to challenge status quo
  • Ability and willingness to innovate
  • Ability to evolve in different cultural environments
  • Ability to support and challenge expectations and stakeholders according to priorities
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally if requested and required by business (up to 10% of time)
  • Willing to work in hybrid model
