Key Responsibilities:

  • Actions daily import/export compliance and clearance tasks with CBP, Census, Customs brokers, software provider, FTZ board and 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Prepares and submits required weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual declarations to CBP.
  • Implements compliance measures to minimize Customs broker or FTZ entry errors.
  • Collects and analyses data for daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting and KPI’s and implements corrective measures if necessary.
  • Creates and maintains import, FTZ and/or export compliance reporting dashboards.
  • Analyzescustoms duty spend and implement opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Creates, updates and/or maintains procedures and SOPs for import, FTZ and export processes and activities as needed.
  • Facilitates free trade program to mitigate duty impact (e.g., Free Trade Agreements).
  • Works with DC network to identify, reconcile, and resolve any inventory issues in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Utilizes the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal for import/export compliance activity reporting.
  • Engages with IS and other resources within the business to support solutions on Customs compliance matters to mitigate risks.
  • Performs project related tasks to enable delivery of team assignments and objectives.
  • Seeks automation opportunities and leverages technologies to drive compliance with global trade regulations.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, as necessary.
  • Verifies and maintains recordkeeping procedures for documentation pertaining to Customs entries according to CBP and company policies.
  • Participates in global and regional Customs initiatives and projects.
  • Supports activities relating the company’s participation in government programs such as Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT).
  • Participates in and attends training seminars and meetings as needed and/or required.

Key Relationships:

  • Internally: Custom Compliance, Export, FTZ, Transportation, Finance, Legal, Tax, DC Ops
  • Externally: CBP and Other Government Agencies, Custom brokers, factories, 3rd party logistics providers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of import and export processes/operations
  • Highly detail oriented/analytical and adaptive to change.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily deadlines.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong internal and external customer service attitude
  • Self-motivated and capable of working as part of a team or alone with little supervision.
  • Strong Excel and Access skills
  • Strong presentation skills and able tocommunicate complex situations to xx audience.


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years work experience in Customs Compliance and/or Finance or Auditing
  • Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is a plus.
  • Must pass CBP background check.
