As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes and systems to ensure efficient and cost-effective production. Your role involves analyzing current production methods, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance product quality and production efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production staff, to integrate new technologies, resolve production issues, and ensure adherence to industry standards and safety regulations. Key tasks include process optimization, equipment selection and maintenance, and troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.

  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years' experience or Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting of PC/server based systems

  • Understanding of Quality Assurance and testing procedures

Desired Characteristics
  • Candidates with a strong background in manufacturing process development preferred

  • Co-op or internship experience in Manufacturing Engineering

  • 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified

  • Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing

  • Product and Process Development experience

  • Solid working knowledge of GE Healthcare QMS procedures for Good Manufacturing Processes

  • Experienced developing tools and templates

  • Demonstrated program or project management skills

  • Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Good analytical and planning skills
