Specialist – Technology Product Analysis

The Specialist – Manufacturing Automation will serve as technical control system engineer as part of manufacturing value team (MVT) member supporting the SCADA/Process Historian Product technical activities under the Process Control & Instruments Integration Product line. The Specialist is responsible for creating value enablers for the SCADA/ Process Historian product and deployment of those value enablers to worldwide manufacturing sites. These value enablers improve the operations efficiency, control system availability and performance. Responsibilities also include system configurations, troubleshooting issues, identifying trends, process monitoring, system administration, documentation updates, data querying, operator training and participating in deviation investigations. Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) and frequently with operations and other support groups.

• Develop SCADA/ Process Historian engineering solutions and manage the technical deployment of the same at multiple manufacturing plants.
• Documentation of best practices, internal Knowledge Articles, and other communications.
• Participate and contribute to investigations of automation anomalies to prevent a recurrence.
• Understand the control systems infrastructure and able to perform control system administration monitoring using standard and customized monitoring tool including associated processes and tracking.
• Understand and support all GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Evaluate automated and information technology systems and develop strategies to optimize and ensure the quality and stability of automation systems through future expansion, replacement, or upgrade.
• Use their technical knowledge to assure the robust and efficient operation of a variety of automated processing and information technology systems.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience of SCADA systems engineering & deployment – Ignition 8.1 , Rockwell Factory Talk, Siemens, Wonderware. SCADA administration and configuration.
• Excellent understanding on SCADA/MES Ignition modules like Perspective, Vision Unlimited, Web Browser, Alarm Notification, SQL Bridge, Tag Historian, SQL Server, python scripting
• Expertise in integration with OPC server products like Kepware
• Experience with Process Historian Aveva PI –
  • Configure PI AF, Event Frames, Notifications, etc. as per Plant Hierarchy
  • Develop on-demand reports, dashboards, etc. in PI System
  • PI-System performance optimization, monitoring system health, upgrades, etc.
• Experience with automation system architecture, design, start-up and/or qualification.
• Experienced problem solver/troubleshooter, skilled in root cause analysis
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills to multi-task.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical writing skills
• Proficient in MS Office Platform and document storage systems
• A prominent level of innovation, creativity, and self-initiative

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Strong background in Manufacturing IT & Control systems; specifically, integration of control systems with IT systems
• Networking experience; working knowledge of Enterprise Networking and local control networks.
• Pharmaceutical Operations experience, in a GMP Pilot Plant, Manufacturing environment or related facility
