Hours:1:20PM - 9:30PM, Monday - Friday Nights (Must be flexible to train on other shifts).
Starting at $19.73/hour + $1.00/ Shift Differential = $20.73/hour
Job Summary:
In this role, you will operate One Piece Flow Machine (assembly machine/ press); collect product samples and inspect product from belt and cartons for various defects outlined subsequent to and during training periods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete all pertinent documentation as required by SOIs and WIs.
Perform sampling inspections and use measuring equipment per plant procedures.
Fill hoppers, remove finished goods and in process and place on skids or conveyor.
Operate presses and assembly machines as scheduled; separate and remove defective or bent aluminum seals and plastic from feeder tracks, vibratory bowls and hoppers to prevent machine jamming and loss of production time; Perform all material handling duties on the Press side; including dumping buckets, filling blow overs, scanning labels, make cartons, issue and return metal; feed presses
Feed presses, help pull and set dies.
Assist press mechanics in performing PMs & performing die approvals.
Enter product dimensions in computer and monitor statistical process control (SPC) charts to assure product is within specifications.
Perform clean out and line clearances. Perform safety checks and servicing on the presses.
Troubleshoot SPC and measurement devices. Check and note any repairs in the Logbook.
Perform second vision verification during set ups.
Provide all paperwork/materials to assembly floor for “next order”.
Obtain raw materials from warehouse for new orders. Provide to appropriate machine areas as needed.
Remove trash and scrap from assembly area and place in appropriate containers/receptacles.
Scan labels on WIP and Finished Good product as required.
Guide and function as a coach for the work of new or less experienced operators and support personnel while working in a team-oriented fast paced environment.
Relieve operations of areas through directed break schedules.
Work with Quality team to ensure accurate and timely batch record review and provide feedback to necessary parties.
All other duties as assigned.

Must observe all good housekeeping practices.
Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs as directed by Area Manager(s), Production Manager and/or Director, Ops.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance .
Safety glasses, hairnet, face/beard cover, gloves, safety shoes and hearing protection as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Must pass pre-employment testing
Experience: 0-3 years of experience
Must possess an acute attention to detail and be able to communicate
Proficient in West’s Shop Floor applications and Microsoft Office
Willing to work overtime as needed
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Physical & Mental Requirements:
At a minimum, the following tests need to be passed:
20/20 vision at approximately 45 cm (18 inches) from eye, with or without correction lens
Color blindness
Must be able to distinguish defective parts.
Must be able to lift 35 lb. box and move a distance of 10 yards
Manufacturing environment
Must be able to express and exchange ideas with employees
Must be able to build strong relationships with direct reports and peers
Competencies/Authorities
Non-US only where required for certain levels
