The
National Technology Officer

The NTO is responsible for leading the development and execution of national technology strategies, delivering strategic country-led initiatives, and driving technical intensity across the public and private sectors.

As the NTO, you will be at the forefront of this mission, driving impactful change and innovation across the region promoting technology strategies and solutions that are accessible and equitable, addressing the needs of all segments of society.

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field AND extensive proven experience in the technology industry, with a background in Technology leadership or senior technology roles.
  • OR equivalent experience
• Experience in engaging with government bodies, public sector organizations, critical industries AND deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and policy-making process.
• This role requires collaboration with local customers, therefore fluency in Greek is required.

Additional/ Preferred Qualificatons:

• A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

Lead Strategic Initiatives:

• Partner with Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) advocating for regulatory frameworks that support AI innovation, Cybersecurity, Sustainability and digital growth.
• Develop and lead the technology strategy and national plans for Microsoft in the region, aligning local market needs with global Microsoft objective and interface the respective Government Committees
• Prepare the landing ground for new technologies such as AI Infused Innovation, National SOC, Quantum etc.

Deliver Country-Led Priorities:

• Lead the successful landing of local Data Centers, driving technical workloads, service profiles, and risk mitigation in close cooperation with the local teams, customers, partners and engineering.
• Serve as the technology advisor to Public Sector government officials and policymakers, influencing national technology policies and standards.
• Engage with AI committees and leaders in critical industries to define AI strategies, leveraging lessons learned from other countries.
• Work closely with the Public Sector team to define ecosystem architecture/framework/AI Use Cases with other key players to drive innovation in Government services.
• Partner with Global Partners Solutions (GPS) to further engage the StartUp ecosystem of the country and foster partnerships that drive innovation in cutting-edge technologies leveraging Microsoft technologies
• Work closely with leading universities and the Education sector and team to accelerate talent development in Cloud, Cybersecurity and AI.

Drive Technical Intensity:

• Collaborate with the Regional Technology Officer, Southeast Tech Office, and the Worldwide NTO/NSO Community to accelerate tech intensity in our markets.
• Represent Microsoft in key technical forums and identify and promote best practices and success stories of Microsoft technology implementations.
• Provide insights to global product teams to influence the development of Microsoft technologies tailored to the local market.
