As a Fund Services Reference Data Associate within Securities Services Operations, you will be one of the gatekeepers to ensure the accuracy of the reference data that flows through our fund accounting and downstream reporting channels. You will be working in a team environment to process accurate instrument set-ups and changes through a wide range of activities such as: maintaining a strict control environment, performing value add analysis and collaborating with internal teams to develop scalable production processes. In addition, you will play an important role in the fund accounting lifecycle.

Job responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain security level reference data on various internal systems
  • Process authorized client instructions for Managed Funds set ups including Unlisted Unit Trusts, Hedge Funds and Private Equity Assets in a timely manner
  • Act as point of escalation and support in high volume days for checking/verification of work
  • Ensure stringent control procedures are adhered to and exceptions are escalated in line with agreed standards
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service-level Agreements (SLAs) and monitor to ensure adherence to them by all staff and maintain all Key Risk Indicator (KRI), Key Practice Indicators (KPI) and Management Information System (MIS)
  • Respond and interact with all internal business lines including Relationship Management, Client Executive, Portfolio Accounting, Technology and senior management and contact with external auditors, consultants and clients
  • Provide input in projects including but not limited to client transitions, system enhancements, and end to end process reviews

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within the finance industry and knowledge of financial products, accounting and finance principles
  • Strong understanding of Unit Trusts and/or Private Equity processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with commitment to provide high quality client services
  • Strong focus on risk awareness and controls with ability to identify any gaps/ implement effective and timely resolutions to mitigate risk efficiently
  • Self-motivated with proven history taking clear ownership for delivery, or rapidly coming up to speed quickly and being effective
  • Ability to work flexible hour (i.e. 7:00am Hong Kong time) where required to facilitate daily operations and incident processing in Australian time zone

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Understanding of Unit Trusts and/or Private Equity processes will be a benefit
  • Adaptability to work within new work structures, processes or requirements
  • Flexibility in the completion of any assigned functions
