CSG markets GSAM's investment products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries and advisors. The focus is on building and maintaining long-term client relationships and communicating key themes from the firm's leading investment professionals. CSG provides investment solutions across all major asset classes (e.g., fixed income, equities and alternatives) and products including mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts and alternative investments.

Goldman Sachs is hiring to accelerate the build-out of
Wealth Customized Solutions (WCS),a group whose capabilities consist of:

  1. A range of custom portfolio solutions to help CIOs and Advisors with their core portfolio design incorporating Funds, ETFs, SMAs, Alts
  2. A suite of SMA offerings including direct indexing, active equity and fixed income SMAs

Role Overview

is expected to become an essential partner to the RIA. An example of the power of the relationship is that it’s not uncommon for you to be added to the CIO’s investment committee as a non-voting member.

Success in this role requires partnership with GSAM wealth sales team, wealth Specialists, internal investment teams and establish strong trusting relationships with RIA CIOs and their investment committees.Further keys to success require ability to apply a solutions-based value proposition that harnesses the breadth of Goldman Sachs capabilities and approach the role like a business owner -- build strong relationships with sales partners and centers of influence (COIs), be accountable for territory rotation maintain a full calendar of events and meetings, and rigorous disciplined pipeline management.

will have expert knowledge of Goldman’s entire platform -- Mutual Funds, ETFs, Direct Indexing, Fixed Income, Option overlay, transition management, Exchange Funds, Alts, Custody platform, etc. This position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and exceptional client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • You are a member of the Portfolio Design team and are expected to serve as an essential partner to an advisor by working with multi-asset Model Lead Portfolio Managers to customize GS models or consulting on the advisor’s models.
  • Provide deep expertise in multi-asset portfolio construction, portfolio analytics, and combine quantitative portfolio analysis and qualitative insights to most impactfully communicate with clients.
  • You will work as an extension of the GSAM wholesaler and have an assigned territory with a target list of RIAs to engage.
  • Present Goldman Sachs thought leadership in settings ranging from individual teams to large meetings/events. Content includes portfolio construction theory, tax-optimized portfolio construction, risk analysis, trends in advisory portfolios, and thematic portfolio ideas.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Goldman Sachs' solutions – Mutual Funds, ETFs, Direct Indexing, Fixed Income, Option overlay, transition management, Exchange Funds, Alts, Custody platform, etc.
  • Be an expert on market trends, competitive landscape, and wealth sponsor platform to provide informed advice to advisors.
  • Disciplined pipeline management to close leads, acquire new advisors, deepen relationships with existing advisors and cross-sell solutions.

Skills/Experience

  • 10 - 15 years of relevant investment management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, CFA, CIMA, CFP, a plus)
  • Series 7 and 66 required
  • Good understanding of asset management, wealth advisory markets, and SMA/models.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight time constraints
  • Experience with RIAs, Family Offices, PWAs
  • Business builder with an entrepreneurship-like spirit.
  • Tenacious commercial animal and sweats the details.
  • Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality.
  • Team player with demonstrated capacity to work seamlessly with a wide variety of personalities across the organization.

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
