We are looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer to lead the development of new tools to monitor and improve forecast health. You will do this by detecting, diagnosing and correcting forecast problems and generating metrics and insights. You will have the resources and tools to help you deliver this mission and support from partner teams like Data Engineering/Data Science/Product.A successful candidate will be customer obsessed - the Forecasting org has 50+ unique customers. You will need to balance long-term thinking with short-term actions. You will be comfortable navigating an ambiguous environment, know how to confirm and reconfirm assumptions, and be able to harmonize disparate points of view.Key job responsibilities
- Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor with data integrity to provide reporting against large, multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources
- Partner with scientists, engineers, product managers, and program managers to build and productionize forecasting metrics; perform analysis to identify the root cause of issues and generate actionable insights to guide the appropriate solution
- Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, data modeling and finding synthesis, and communication of insights and recommendations

We develop intervention models to correct forecasts when defects exist or for scenarios that are not addressed adequately by core models. In addition to forecast accuracy, we help manage forecast volatility.

- 7+ years of professional or military experience
- 6+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
