As a CPU Physical Design Engineer, you will work with microarchitecture and RTL design team to implement the designs meeting aggressive power, area and performance goals using industry standard tools/flows.

Required Experience

• Experience with Synthesis, place and route and signoff timing/power analysis.

• Knowledge of high performance and low power implementation methods

• Knowledge of CPU microarchitecture, logic design and circuits

Preferred qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of experience.

• Knowledge of CPU microarchitecture.

• Preferred experience in deep submicron process technology nodes.

• Familiarity with library cells and optimizations.

• Proficient in industry-standard tools for synthesis, place & route, and tape out flows.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CPU microarchitecture team to comprehend specifications and evaluate design trade-offs in pipeline and structure sizing.

• Conduct feasibility studies to validate the implementability, area, timing, and power requirements.

• Synthesize the Verilog RTL into gate-level designs and perform necessary optimizations.

• Execute Synthesis, Place & Route on the designs using industry-standard tools and deliver GDS files.

• Optimize the design at various stages from RTL to GDS to achieve timing, power, and area objectives.

• Ensure the designs are validated for functional and electrical robustness.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
